Center (C) is a position in American Football where the player that is right in the middle of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes ("snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. He protects the quarterback and blocks for the running back during a play. Without the Center, it would be impossible for an American Football team to protect the Quarterback when trying to perform a play meaning there would be continuous sacks meaning the teal would not be able to move forward leading them to lose their possession. The Center is also useful in protecting the Running Back, Wide Receiver and Tight End when running to gain some yards.
